In 2014 Tbilisi hosted the 5th Annual BACAC Conference “BACAC – present and future“ with 160 participants from many countries of the world;

In 2012 Almaty hosted the 4th Annual BACAC Conference “Regional Biosafety And Biosecurity: Moving To International Standards“ with 150 participants from many countries of the world;

2011

Biosafety And Biosecurity In The Region: The Positive And Negative Lessons

In 2011 Tbilisi hosted the 3rd BACAC Annual Conference “Biosafety And Biosecurity In The Region: The Positive And Negative Lessons”, with 190 participants from many countries of the world;

2010

Regional Cooperation On Biological Safety And Biological Security

In 2010 Bishkek hosted the 2nd BACAC Annual Conference “Regional Cooperation On Biological Safety And Biological Security“ with 180 participants from 12 countries of the world;

2009

BACAC Founders Conference

In 2009  Almaty hosted the first BACAC Founders Conference with 155 participants from 16 countries and 4 similar associations;

Publishing

  • During April 25-30, 2011 BACAC hold a seminar for specialists of Central Asia “Biorisks management-AMP model‘ on the basis of KSCQZD. Had been trained 14 professionals from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan.
  • At the expense of BACAC funds in 2011 had been published three new guidelines:

– A Guide For Practitioners “Introduction Of Risk Management Systems At Hazardous Biological Facilities In Kazakhstan:  Risk Assessment “. -75 p.;

– A Guide For Practitioners “Introduction Of Risk Management Systems At Hazardous Biological Facilities In Kazakhstan: Evaluating Effectiveness”. -52 p.;

– A Guide For Practitioners Introduction Of Risk Management Systems At Hazardous Biological Facilities In Kazakhstan: Risk Mitigation Activities. ” -112 p.

In 2012 was issued another Guide For Practitioners “Introduction Of Risk Management Systems At Hazardous Biological Sites Of Kazakhstan” – 230 p.

These manuals are not only useful, but also are good learning materials. On development of manuals worked great team of authors, headed by the first BACAC President Dr. B.Atshabar and L. Nekrasova.

  • In July 2012 for the first time, was held a seminar at the National Centre Of Natural-foci Diseases of the Ministry of Health of Mongolia. Trainers were 6 employees of The main objective of the workshop was to train specialists of Mongolia on new technologies (PCR, ELISA, GIS) and international approaches in biological safety and security. The trip was organized and financed by BACAC and KSCQZD. 64 specialists were trained.
  • On November 18-21, 2013 the Georgian Biosafety Association (GeBSA) held BACAC Sustainability Workshop with the help of IFBA and UK MoD, where BACAC members discussed the challenges and ways to meet them.
